Read Lenovo specifications against the exact model code
A product-family specification can describe more possibilities than one laptop actually includes. Readers in Braamfontein and Johannesburg can make Lenovo research more precise by keeping the platform, configuration code and seller’s offered unit separate.

Start with the identifier, not only the family name
Ask for the precise model or machine-type information associated with the offered computer. Keep that identifier beside the quote and any photographs of the unit. A familiar series name can help you begin research, but it may not resolve differences in memory, storage, display, connectivity or included features.
Separate platform-level specifications from the detailed machine-type and model configuration. A capability listed for a product family may be an option rather than standard equipment in the unit offered. Use the relevant model entry and supporting documentation instead of assigning every advertised platform feature to every computer in the series or assuming the photographs settle the configuration.
Turn options into questions for the seller
Create a short list of the features that matter to your own use: the installed memory, storage, screen, ports and charger, for example. Mark whether each is confirmed for the offered configuration or merely listed as a possible platform feature. Ask for written clarification where the two sources do not match.
Read the product documentation for the correct Lenovo model and generation, and distinguish an original factory configuration from later changes to a used device. A reference page is not an inspection report. Ask the seller to explain upgrades, replacements or other modifications that affect the offered unit rather than assuming it still matches every original specification.
Keep specification research separate from availability
Save the reference URL and the date you checked it, then return to the actual seller for current stock, condition, price and terms. A product appearing in a manufacturer reference does not establish that it is stocked locally, that an old configuration is still sold or that an independent website is an authorised reseller.
Before payment, compare the final quote with the model information and resolve remaining differences. Do not share a device serial number publicly just to ask a broad comparison question. The goal is an explainable purchasing record: the unit offered, the evidence checked and the support arrangement you understand, rather than confidence based only on a brand name.
- Keep the exact configuration identifier with the quote.
- Separate platform options from confirmed installed features.
- Check the correct model documentation and disclosed modifications.
- Verify current seller terms independently of manufacturer reference pages.
